The stars flickered dimmer at the time of your departure. Gary Lee Adams Sr. closed the chapter of his life here on Earth and has journeyed to a place full of love. Around 4 a.m. Gary’s presence became a quiet exit with Joseph, his son, and Desiree, his Goddaughter, by his bedside. Gary can be remembered as patient, humble, and kind-hearted.
Born on November 28, 1938 to parents, Jacob Snivel Adams and Thelma Flow Adams, he grew up with a sister Jeri and two brothers: Lynn and Kurt Adams.
Gary will be remembered as a veteran, a father, a husband, and a devout Catholic. While he was stationed at Fort Bliss, Gary Lee met his true love, Selma Josefina, who preceded him in death in March of this year, along with their beloved son, Gary Lee Adams Jr., who passed on January 22, 2022. They join his parents and both his brothers as they reunite in our Heavenly Father’s kingdom.
Gary Lee Adams Sr. is survived by his three sons, Joseph Adams, Randy Adams, Lynn Adams, and his sister, Jeri Springer. Gary has also left behind many members of his extended family that shared many memorable moments with him. Anyone who met Gary felt immediate comfort with his presence.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 750 N. Carolina Dr. Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place the following day, at 12:00 p.m. October 22, 2025 at San Antonio Catholic Church located at 503 Hunter Dr. Interment will follow immediately after mass, which will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery located at 5200 Fred Wilson.
