Gary Thomas Armstrong, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Monday, August 4th at 6:21 p.m. at his home on Catawba Island, Ohio.

A devoted husband, beloved father, proud Opa, cherished brother, Uncle G and beloved friend, Gary lived life with joy, strength, and a spark that touched everyone who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Susan Armstrong, and his children: Rodney (Jennifer) Armstrong, Amber (Thomas) Ault, and Jessica (Joseph) Heney. He was the proud Opa to six grandchildren who lit up his world-Claire, Samantha, Ruby, Raegan, Bryson, and Hattie.

Gary spent nearly four decades as a maintenance welder at Ford Motor Company, a career that reflected his incredible work ethic and unmatched skill with his hands. A builder of all things, he could fix, create, and improve anything he touched-always willing to lend a hand or offer a solution.

He had a deep love for the open road, especially when riding his Harley-Davidson, the wind and freedom matching his vibrant spirit. Gary was the life of every party, known for his quick wit, booming laugh, and unforgettable dance moves. His joy was infectious, his presence unforgettable.

More than anything, Gary valued family, friendship, and fun. Whether he was sharing a beer, telling a story, or dancing in the kitchen, he made every moment count-and helped others do the same.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Please join us in celebrating the life of Gary on Saturday, September 27th, at the Elks Lodge, located at 231 Buckeye Blvd, Port Clinton, OH 43452.

The service and sharing of stories will begin at 11:00 AM. In honor of Gary, we invite you to wear your Harley Davidson attire, Viking horns or anything that reminds you of him.

Although the Elks Lodge will close at 3:00 PM, the celebration doesn't end there. We welcome everyone to continue gathering at the lake house, just as Gary would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Gary by riding your motorcycle, fixing something with your hands, or dancing like no one's watching-just as he would have wanted.

Invictus Maneo.
