Gary Joseph Batche, age 80, a resident of Warren, Michigan passed Friday, January 2, 2026 at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI. He was born on August 5, 1945 in Detroit to Peter and Vera (Bunk) Batche.

Gary had previously worked in quality control at Cold Heading Co. in Warren for over 43 years, retiring in 2015. He proudly received an award in 1967 for 1st place in the custom class during Autorama with his 1966 Triumph motorcycle. He was a staunch fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and remained current with the news surrounding Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. A dog lover at heart, Gary found immense joy with his canine companions over the years.

His legacy lives on in the hearts of his son Pete (Shawn) Batche, brother Richard Batche, longtime partner and companion Paula Lorentz and her family Chris (Tamara) Lorentz, Erika (Daniel) Koukoudian, and grandchildren Cary and Sam. Gary was preceded in death by brothers Ronald and Mel Batche and sister Rita Thompson.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00a.m. (instate 10:30a.m.) at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 E 14 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI.
