Gary Beachley Obituary
He was born on September 17, 1953, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Pierce William and Dorothy Mae (Huffer) Beachley.
Gary was a 1971 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He received his associate degree from Hagerstown Junior College in Engineering and his bachelor's degree from John Hopkins University in Mechanical Engineering in 1985.
He was employed by Pangborn Corporation in Hagerstown, MD as a mechanical engineer, retiring in 2016 after 40 plus years.
He was a member of Sharpsburg Bible Church.
He was also a member of Clopper-Michael Post #10 SAL Boonsboro, MD.
Gary was previously involved with several hunt and game clubs in the tri-state area. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Kay (Castle) Beachley whom he married on April 17, 1976; father-in-law John Kenderson Castle of Boonsboro, MD; brother-in-law Greg A. Castle and his wife Marie of Oxford, GA and their children Lauren, Jeremy and Connor Castle.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law Betty Jane (Lum) Castle and his nephew Jordan Castle.
Gary is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastor Gene Renner officiating. Interment will be in Boonsboro Cemetery Boonsboro, MD.
