Barbara Ann Knode

Williamsport, MD – Barbara Ann Knode, 87, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on June 22, 1938, in Clear Spring, MD to the late John William McCarty and Florence Irene Snyder Weaver.

Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Clear Spring High School Clear Spring, MD. After graduation she was employed at various places including McCroy's Downtown Hagerstown, MD.

She was employed by Dorbee Manufacturing in Hagerstown, MD for 15 years until her retirement in 1976. Barbara helped her husband Harry manage the apartments they owned and operated together.

She was a 50 plus year member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Williamsport, MD.

Barbara was also a member of Potomac Post #202 American Legion Auxiliary Williamsport, MD; Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocohontas I.O.R.M. Williamsport, MD; Ladies of the Moose; BPO Elks Lodge #378 Auxiliary Hagerstown, MD.

She enjoyed baking, especially cakes, pies, and candy. Barbara also visited shut ins and always was there to help others in need.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harry Eugene "Bud" Knode whom she married on August 21, 1965, niece and goddaughter Donna Nave and her husband Chris, great nephew Joshua Bowers and his wife Kirstin, and great niece Amanda Nave. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased in death by her sisters Betty J. Troupe, Cora L. Clopper, B. Rachel Yost, and Doris J. "Dottie" Robinson, brothers Robert Weaver and Charles Weaver.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 10:00 am with Pastor Kim Nunberg-Wadel officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
