Judith (Judy) Romine Rosenberry passed peacefully from this mortal coil on January 26, 2026, at Viva Senior Living in Hagerstown, MD.
Judy was born on January 13, 1941, to Ella Mae and John Romine in Cumberland, MD. The family later moved to Clear Spring, MD. She graduated from Clear Spring High School in 1958 and later graduated from Frostburg State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Judy also earned a Master’s degree in education from Hood College. She married her high school sweetheart, John Rosenberry, in 1962 at St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Clear Spring, MD.
Judy taught at various schools in Washington County throughout her teaching career, but primarily taught English at Springfield Middle School in Williamsport, MD. Prior to her retirement, she served as a guidance counselor at Springfield Middle.
Judy attended St. Paul’s Reformed Church, led by Reverend Dennis Whitmore. Rev. Whitmore served as her pastor, friend and as a great support as her health declined. He was a comforting presence and always gave Judy encouragement.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Juliane Rosenberry; three grandsons, Kaleb, Elijah and Sam; as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of over 35 years, John; parents, Ella Mae and John; brother, Richard; sisters-in-law, Cora Lee, Pat and Jenny; and brothers-in-law, Frank, Nathan, Donald and Theodore.
In Judy’s final years, she enjoyed long visits and coffee with her sister-in-law, Joan, and brother-in-law, Steve; talking on the phone with her cherished lifelong friend, Toni; chatting and laughing with her daughter, Juli, and nieces, Tara and Contessa; and having her hair done by her sister-in-law, Diane. She was always up for a game of BINGO and loved to have a good time! Judy never lost her sense of humor and was always the life of the party.
All arrangements are private. In lieu of a funeral, and to honor Judy’s memory, anyone who would like to participate can donate to Platoon 22 Veterans’ Center, 5350 Spectrum Drive, Frederick, MD 21703.
