Barbara Ann Fee, born December 14th 1962 in Beverly, Ky passed away peacefully on March 26th, 2026. Preceding Barbara in death include her parents Elmer and Sarah Fee, sister Phyllis Fee Alsip and husband Raleigh, sister Nancy Jane Fee, brother Melvin and wife Amanda and brother Donnie and wife Sylvia. She is survived by her husband Don McConnell, beloved children Steven Asher, Jeremy Asher (Torre), Leandra Davis (Laura), grandchildren Cathryn Asher, Luke Asher, and Briley Asher. Blended family children and grandchildren from marriage to Don include daughter Donna McConnell-Smith, son Jonathan McConnell and grandchildren Ryan Napier and Xavier McConnell. She is also survived by her brother Elmer Fee Jr (Rose), sister Isabella Osborne (Gary), sister Ruthie Morgan (Odell) and sister Rhoda Jean Staley as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Barbara graduated both from Eastern Kentucky University and University of Kentucky and built a fulfilling career as a nurse practitioner for nearly 30 years as well as also being a registered nurse for 36 years. She dedicated her life to the service of others. Though she loved and engaged with others, she also believed that everyone needs space to exist without an audience and as such she chose to keep her own life private.
Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, sports, and homesteading. Her most valued activity was time spent with family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD. 21741, with the hope of eventually finding a cure for future generations for a disease that has taken too many lives, particularly in Eastern Kentucky.
Funeral services for Barbara Ann Fee will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. -Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, with Ken Bolin officiating. Visitation will be held at 6:00 -9:00 p.m. - Monday, March 30, 2026 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service on Tuesday at the Brock Cemetery located at Warbranch, KY
