Gary Allan Beins of Sandwich, IL passed away on December 20, 2025, peacefully at home after a long 3 year battle with brain cancer.
Gary was born in Lexington, NE to Kenneth H. and Evelyn C. Beins on July 18, 1950.
Gary worked in the automobile business at Bob Koller Dodge, Naperville, IL for 30 years. In his later years, he worked at 2 different Ace Hardware stores, Kearney, NE and Sandwich, IL.
He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Navy.
Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lisa Beins (Thomas). He is also survived by his son, Alan L. Beins (Carrie), Stepson Jason M. Gibbs (Beth), Stepdaughter Jami M. Gibbs (Kerri), 4 brothers: Larry Beins (Carole), David Beins, Daniel Beins and Billy Beins (Anne), a mother-in-law Barbara A. Thomas, sister-in-law Mary Beth Thomas, 4 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends will also sadly miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tammy Jo Beins, and his father-in-law E. Wayne Thomas.
Gary touched the lives of so many with his kindness, crazy sense of humor and generosity to others. His loud boisterous laugh made all of us smile when we heard it. He loved John Wayne, his huge movie collection, reading books especially history books, remodeling houses and happily building what his wife needed built out in her many gardens, never complaining. Most will remember Gary wearing western boots and jeans and often cowboy hats. He was a master on the BBQ grill. His BBQ ribs will be remembered always by those lucky enough to have tasted them.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
At the family’s request, there will be no services at this time.
