Obituary
Gary Berman, after several long term life threatening illnesses passed on Sunday January 22, 2023 of Carrick.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Joan VanLandingham, sisters and his children, Melanie, Scott and Gary Berman.
Gary is survived by his wife Joni Berman, sons Bruce (Tara) and Jeff Berman.
Loving grandfather of Michelle (Jim) Paschl, Melinda, Michael, Margeaux, Meredith Berman and great grandfather of Max, Mason, Mitchell and Melanie Paschl.
Brother in law of Beverlee Griffin and several nieces and nephew.
Born in Pittsburgh, lived in Florida for 25 years and returned to live in his family home in Carrick.
He remained life long friends with men he knew as children, Donn Taylor, Denny Harmon, Regis Recker and Phil Ricciardi.
He loved golf, boating and the Florida Keys.
He was self taught with all kinds of home repairs and loved to have many projects.
He got most enjoyment from making money projects for the grandchildren and great grandchildren, which could be anything from a money tree or fake box that a money chain was pulled out.
He was an owner of a bar in Pittsburgh and in Florida he owned several gas stations, convenience stores and a pub.
He was a huge animal lover. He grew up with many dogs, chickens, a duck all in the city of Pittsburgh. His mother had a talking Myna Bird and a Monkey. Together with his wife Joni they had many dogs, cats and birds all well loved.
Friends and family received Saturday from 1-4 PM at the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. 1503 Brownsville Road, Carrick.
