He had an amazing ability to find happiness in life and could carry on a conversation with everyone he met. He loved music and you could hear him singing any and every song that came on the radio and somehow, he happened to know all the lyrics. We choose to honor him in continuing to live our lives filled with love and laughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Krista Petroelje; grandchildren, Agnes, Avni, and Hana Ibraimi; siblings, David Bowen, Pat Veldhuis, Marilyn Williams, Nancy Taylor, Pat Sherrell, Betty Lawrence.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Norma Bowen and siblings, Tom Russell, Jean Green, Sue Green, and Carol Wiley.
A family graveside service is planned for Lee Cemetery on Friday, July 19th at 11:30 am.

My uncle Gary is awesome !!!
He and his family took me in from a rough situation, I was very nervous . I didn't know what family was really .
he showed me how to be a man in a way. That's who I look up to .
Gary jean and Krista made me feel comfortable as can be.
I got to know my uncle really good over time .
He loving caring,hard working cranky at times but he do a lot to help others .
He is strong as a ox and maybe then some .
Anyway ty for your time

Gary was a great friend for the last nearly 11 years that I knew him for helped him out a lot with stuff when he needed help and took him in for 7 months to back in 2020 he will be dearly missed glad he was à Christian so I can see him someday again when ever the Lord calls me home

Gary, you gave so much happiness to my son Kyle, being such a father figure. I've been trying to contact you, but could never reach you. You have no more pain now and a Praise God for welcoming you into His Heaven. You will truly be missed. Love you
