Gary Francis Bright was born on December 15, 1953, in Niagara Falls, New York. He passed away peacefully in his home on September 16, 2025, surrounded by family who loved him deeply.

Gary lived a life full of love, laughter, and service. He was deeply devoted to his family and friends, cherishing every moment he could spend with them. Gary's joy came from simple things-sharing a meal, cheering at a ballgame, or just lending a listening ear. His warmth and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone he met, and his friendships were grounded in loyalty, generosity, and genuine care.

At the center of Gary's life was his faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. His love for the Lord guided the way he lived, shaping his values and inspiring the compassion he showed to others. Gary's faith was not just something he spoke about-it was something he demonstrated daily through his actions, his service, and his unwavering belief in the goodness of God.

Gary also had a great love for sports and the outdoors. Whether he was spending time hunting, fishing, or catching a game, he found joy in the energy of competition and the beauty of God's creation. He could often be found in the stands at local sporting events, not only for his own enjoyment but to support friends and family members who were playing. His presence was a reminder that he cared deeply about those around him and always wanted to be part of their moments of achievement.

Service was a cornerstone of Gary's life. He was the first to show up when someone needed help moving, always ready to lift heavy boxes or offer encouragement during a long day. His handyman skills were freely shared, whether it was fixing a leaky faucet, repairing drywall, building something from scratch, or tackling projects around the house. These acts of service were never about recognition-they were about love. Gary's willingness to help, to show up, and to give of himself so freely is a legacy that will live on in the lives of those he touched.

Gary is survived by his wife Linda, two children, Michael (Laurel) Bright and Jaime (Jens) Hansen, as well as 12 grandchildren Kaili (Malachi), Levi (Jessie), Ella, Anna, Megan, Quincy, Eden, Amber, and Josiah, Jarrett, Joel, Jessalyn, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held in Iowa on Monday, September 29 at 4:30pm at Saylorville Church, 6429 NW Sixth Avenue, Des Moines. A meal and time of fellowship will follow the service.

A memorial service will be held in Arizona on Saturday, December 13. More details to come.
