Gary A. Buelt, 60, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South, with Rev. John Elkin officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Gary was born February 8, 1965, in Fort Dodge, the son of Julius R. and Marilyn D. (Coleman) Buelt. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1983, and later continued his education at Iowa Central Community College with a degree in Industrial Mechanics in 2010. In 2003, he was united in marriage to Carol Latta at Grace Lutheran Church. He worked in trucking most of his life. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing and NASCAR racing – especially Ryan Newman. He also enjoyed a nice cold Diet Pepsi and a candy bar, particularly 3 Musketeers. Above all, he loved his wife!
Gary is survived by his daughter: Ashley Fuller of Fort Dodge; 2 step-children: Courtney Niemand and Josh Niemand; 3 grandchildren: Dakota Buelt, Dylan Fuller and Avery Fuller; a great grandchild on the way; 2 siblings: Tina Pederson and husband Rich of Des Moines, IA and Heather Gibson of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2022; and step-father: Tom Gibson.
