Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home - Dayton on Oct. 18, 2024.
It is with fond memories and love that we celebrate the life of Gary Jackson Burns, who was born in
Dayton, Ohio, USA on June 1, 1944, and passed away on August 6, 2024. A Wilmington resident, Gary lived his life with a spirit as vibrant as his collection of old cars and motorcycles. He was a man who embodied loyalty and reliability, a beacon of charisma that effortlessly lit up any room. His colorful vocabulary and love for a good time made him a spirited companion, one who was always ready to rev up his engine and take on the next adventure. In the words of Winston Churchill, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give," and Gary was indeed a generous giver of joy, laughter, and love.
Gary was a man with a colorful vocabulary and a zest for life, reveling in every moment with an infectious enthusiasm. He had a deep passion for motorcycles and vintage cars, often found basking in their mechanical glory. A bit of a ladies' man, he thrived on lively debates and animatedly cheered for his favorite wrasslers on Monday Night Raw; he also enjoyed spirited arguments on Jerry Springer. Gary's vibrant personality made him a captivating presence wherever he went.
Gary's life was enriched by many, including his daughter Renee Noland, his god-daughters Heidi Patch Keller & Amy Taulbee, his grandson Nicholas Wilson, his great granddaughter Savannah Cutiss. Their lives were undoubtedly illuminated by Gary's presence, just as his life was warmed by theirs. Gary was predeceased by his father Arthur Burns, his mother Helen Seitz, and his beloved wife, C. Jane Burns. Their memories will continue to be cherished, as they were integral parts of the journey that shaped Gary into the unforgettable man he was.
A celebration of Gary's charismatic life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 8:00pm EDT at the Yellow Rose Nightclub, located at 854 Watertower Lane, West Carrollton, Ohio, 45449. Services and great care are entrusted to Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home.
We invite you to join us in honoring Gary's memory, in the same manner he lived his life, with spirit, generosity, and joy. As we remember Gary, let's embrace the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
All are encouraged to leave condolences, fond memories and photos shared to Garys memorial page at www.DaytonFunerals.com
