Mr. Gary Wayne Childress, 64 of Garland went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. The family will receive friends at the home of Joshua and Stephanie Childress, 965 Old US 701 Hwy., Clinton, NC 28382.
Mr. Childress was a native of Rockingham County, the son of the late Billy Childress and Shirley Tanner Childress, who survives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Childress. He was a mechanic.
He is survived two sons, Joshua Childress and his wife, Stephanie and Gary Wayne Childress, II; his mother, Shirley Tanner Childress; three brothers, Bill Childress, Lynn Childress and Richard Childress; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, NC.
