Gary Chisholm Obituary
Born August 28, 1941, in Scottville, MI, Gary was the son of the late Charles and Rachel "Dot" (Shoup) Chisholm. He graduated from Scottville High School, Class of 1959 and went on to attend Ferris State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce.
Gary married Carolyn Jean Hansen on September 1, 1962, and they shared 63 years together.
He was a certified public accountant for General Motors for 35 years before retiring in 1998.
Gary was a loving husband, deeply adored by his daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for his hardworking and humble nature, Gary lived a life marked by honesty, kindness, compassion, respect, loyalty, and support.
Throughout his life, Gary found joy in various hobbies. He was an avid golfer, often found on the greens, enjoying the game regardless of the score. Travel also played a significant part in his life, bringing him new experiences and memories with his family. A voracious reader, Gary cherished the quiet moments spent with a good book. Above all, spending time with his family was paramount, as these moments were the cornerstone of his happiness.
Gary's legacy of love, integrity, and kindness will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will be held in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his compassionate spirit.
Gary is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughters Beth (Dan) Balch, Julie (Darl) Nagelkirk, and Carrie (Pat) Aten; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Charles and Rachel, Gary was preceded in death by his siblings Charles "Chuck" Chisholm, John Chisholm, and Barb Anderson.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held in the spring or summer, date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
