Gary Wesley Clark, a beloved figure in his community and a lifelong farmer, passed away on November 1, 2025, just days shy of celebrating his 75th birthday. Born in Kirksville, Missouri on November 4, 1950, Gary was the cherished son of Wesley and Geneva Clark, who have preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his sisters, Joyce (Aven) Niece and Peggy (Sidney) Osborn. Gary's loyal dog, Princess, has also joined him in rest.
A graduate of Brashear High School, class of 1968, Gary was proud that he lived and farmed the same land that he was born. In addition, he dedicated 28 years of service to MFA Propane in Kirksville, where many will remember him for his unwavering work ethic and warm smile. His devotion to farming was matched only by his love for those around him—he truly was someone who "loved everyone."Gary's passions extended beyond farming; he found joy in numerous hobbies that brought him closer to his family and friends. An avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, he spent countless hours cheering (and cussing) his team on. He loved playing cards and was known for his skill in restoring antique tractors, a labor of love that reflected both his mechanical prowess and his admiration for history, as an all-around "fix-it guy."Softball, camping, hunting, and fishing at the farm pond were favorite pastimes, moments he cherished sharing with his wife, Charlotte Clark, and their children. A devoted father, he is survived by his sons, Patrick Bingham and Brad (Misty Goings) Clark, and his daughter, Jaime (Joe Greenwell) Clark. As a grandfather, he took immense joy being "PaPa" to his granddaughter, Elizabeth Bingham. He is also survived by nieces, nephew, cousins and many friends.Gary's vibrant spirit was showcased at gatherings, where he excelled at entertaining family and friends while making Geneva's homemade ice cream. Whether it was telling jokes while driving the school bus or coaching softball and baseball, he was instrumental in growing many of the area's next generations. Gary was member of the Kirksville Moose lodge, Brashear school board, Bethel cemetery board, and Hart-Parr Oliver Collections Association (HPOCA).
The legacy of his kindness, humor, and love will be carried on in the stories, memories, and laughter of those he leaves behind a memorial gathering to honor Gary's life and legacy will be held on November 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel located at 2100 E Shepherd Ave, Kirksville, MO 63501, with burial the following day at the St Mary's Catholic Cemetery at 10:00 AM. Family is encouraging all who attend the graveside service to wear St Louis Cardinals clothing. As we remember Gary, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community. His heart will forever live on in the lives of those he touched.
In honor of Gary, memorials may be left to the Bethel Cemetery Association or the Adair County R-2 School for the Tom Story Scholarship Fund.
