Combs, Gary – of Ypsilanti, age 67, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 8, 2025, surrounded by his family. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
Gary was born May 1, 1957, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to the late Hiram and Bernice (Stidham) Combs. Gary graduated from Willow Run High School with the class of 1975. He devoted many years of his life to working as a truck driver for Causley Trucking. It was on the open road where Gary found his joy and freedom, a testament to his love for life and adventure. An avid baseball fan, Gary passionately cheered for the Detroit Tigers, but it was the games of his great nephew, Zachary, that brought him the utmost joy. Gary proudly loved displaying his granddaughter Madelynn's artwork around his home. He was her biggest fan. Known for his quiet demeanor and gentle spirit, Gary was a simple man who valued family above all else. His love and dedication to his family were unparalleled, and he shared countless memories with them that will be cherished forever. As we remember, Gary, we celebrate a life lived with kindness, simplicity, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and fond memories.
Surviving are: Daughter, Stephanie Combs; Granddaughter, Madelynn Combs; Brother, Donald "Chuck" (Debra) Combs; Sister, Sharon Young (Dave Richards); Niece, Jean (Scott) Abbey; Great nephew and niece: Zachary and Emily Abbey. He is preceded in passing by his parents; Brother-In-Law, Randall Young. Please sign our guestbook or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
