Gary Conley Obituary

Visit the Wade Funeral Home - Bristol website to view the full obituary.

Gary Kenneth Conley, aged 78, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, with his son, Eric, by his side. Born on August 26, 1947, to the late Bruce Conley and Classie (Brown), Gary was a lifelong resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he lived for more than six decades.

After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, Gary was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist. Upon returning home, he began a long and successful career with Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing (3M). Starting on the production oor, he taught himself the skills needed to advance, earning promotions to maintenance mechanic and ultimately to the roles of Auditor and ISO Quality Manager.

Gary’s work ethic was matched only by his generosity. From supporting veterans groups and local re/police departments to contributing to countless charities, he rarely encountered a cause he didn’t champion. A self-taught man with an inquisitive mind, Gary developed expertise in a wide range of trades and hobbies from plumbing and electro-mechanical work to tossing horseshoes and playing bingo. He always dedicated himself fully to the task at hand and forever taught his sons to do the same.

And, although Gary could appear reserved when first meeting someone, those who came to knew him well would experience his gentle humor, deep loyalty, and kind heart. He was passionate about sports, especially cheering for his beloved The Ohio State Buckeyes. An avid golfer and bowler, Gary proudly achieved both the coveted hole-in-one and a perfect 300 game. He cherished his time as golf team captain and especially enjoyed golfing with friends and his son, Eric – especially when it was followed by a great meal and laughter. Gary had an exquisite talent for remembering nearly every shot he (and his cart-mate) ever played and on each course that he played. Perhaps more importantly though, he could always steer you to which ones had the best burgers and hot dogs.

Above all, Gary will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity of spirit, and devotion to family. He will be profoundly missed by his dear life partner, Donna, and his beloved son, Eric (Tracey), along with step-grandchildren Jessica and Matthew (Georgia), and treasured grandson Zach. He is also survived by his loving nephews and nieces Roger, Linda, Yvonne, Patty, Brett, Jeffery, Marcia, and Heather, as well as extended family members David, Jeff, Anna, Megan, Nic, Anthony, Carmen, Brynne, Ryan, Kirstyn, Samantha, Tyler, Dominic, and Angela.

Gary was predeceased by his parents; his cherished son, Garrison; infant daughter, Erica; brother James; sisters, Reva (McCutcheon) and Janie Sue and his ex-wife, Ann (Capecci).

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life and interment on the morning of Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:30am (guests to arrive promptly at 11:15am) at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
