Gary Curran Obituary

BRISTOL

Gary G. Curran, 55, of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2025. He was born on May 4, 1970 in Holyoke, MA, son of the late Jack and Lois (Bennis) Curran. Gary was a graduate of South Hadley High School in Massachusetts and American International College, where he met the love of his life, Erin. Deeply involved in his community, he served as equipment director for the Forestville Little League and coached at Forestville Little League and The Bristol Soccer Club. A lifelong music lover, Gary especially enjoyed playing the drums and was a devoted "Dead Head" and "Parrot Head." He combined his love of music and his passion for sales in his professional life working for Full Power Radio. Prior to that he committed many years to the Bristol Press and New Britain Herald. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished his two boys, his loyal dog, Wyoming, and his two cats. Gary will be remembered for his quick wit and the love he brought into the lives of those around him. Gary is survived by his wife of 25 years, Erin (Harkey) Curran; two sons Tim and Josh Curran; his brother Tom Curran and his wife Debbie; nieces Jeannie Curran and her fiance Kelly Barstow, Megan Curran; nephew Jake Curran and his wife Lex and several other extended family and friends. Besides his parents, Gary is predeceased by his brother John Curran and sister Sue Curran. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date in the fall.
