Gary L. Curtis

Gary Lamonte Curtis, 63, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 with family by his side.
He was born April 4, 1962, in Columbus, OH, a son of the late Genevieve Ruth Curtis. Gary was a member of the Tree Of Life Church in Martins Ferry, OH. He worked for many years as a carpenter and liked working with hands and took great pride in all of the projects he completed. In his spare time Gary enjoyed watching old Western movies but above everything else, he relished in spending time with his family, you would often find him playing video games or basketball with them.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Zaylen King Harrison.
Gary is survived by the love of his life, of 32 years, Tammy McCormick of Wheeling; his grandson, Gary McCormick of Wheeling; his granddaughter, Ciara Jean (Cashaun Harrison) McCormick of Wheeling; great-grandchildren, Moana Ann and Lorilie Snodgrass both of Wheeling; his siblings, David (Denise) Curtis of Columbus, OH and Cathy J. Curtis of Wheeling, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, including Debbie and Jeff Johnson and Jeff Johnson II, who helped to play an integral role in Gary's care towards the end of his life.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 12 pm until time of memorial service at 1:30 pm at CARE Funeral and Cremation Services, 3828 Jacob St,. Wheeling.
