Daphne "Denise" Hobbs, born on August 13, 1972, in
East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away on February 7, 2026, in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the age of 53. A beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, she touched the lives of all who knew her with her radiant smile and boundless joy.
Denise's early years were spent in East Liverpool, where she was raised by her loving parents, the late George and Darlene (Hughes) Cunningham. With a nurturing spirit and an unwavering dedication to her family, she later became the most incredible mother that anyone could ask for.
Throughout her professional life, Denise worked as a banker at several esteemed institutions, including Huntington Bank, where she was recognized for her diligence and commitment. However, it was her ability to light up any room and her contagious happiness that left the most lasting impression on those around her. Denise had a natural gift for making others feel special and loved, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Denise is survived by her devoted husband, John Hobbs, and their five beloved children: sons Joshua, Jacob, and Jared, and daughters Jaimie and Jenelle. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, brothers Randy, Brad, and Walter, and sister Michelle. Her legacy continues through her five treasured grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
As we celebrate Denise's life, we remember a woman whose kindness and warmth knew no bounds. Her love of animals was well known, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter via her obituary page, honoring her enduring compassion.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists in
Calcutta, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitations on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 5-7 pm, and Friday, February 13, from 11 am-1 pm.
