Gary Davidson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care - Robinson Township on Dec. 23, 2025.
Gary Alfred Davidson, age 63, of South Franklin Township, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on December 18, 2025, at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, from complications following emergency surgery to repair an aortic dissection.

Born on October 4, 1962, Gary was a lifelong resident of the Washington area and a 1980 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School, where he served as the pitcher for the school's baseball team.

Gary dedicated 38 years of service to Thepitt (now Eaton Industries) in Houston, earning the respect and friendship of many coworkers through his strong work ethic and dependability.

A devoted man of faith, Gary was an active and beloved member of Central Assembly of God Church in Houston, PA. He faithfully served as a deacon, a member of the choir, and worked security most Sundays. Gary was often found welcoming members of the congregation with his well-known and heartfelt phrase, "Thank you for your smile," a reflection of his kindness and generous spirit.

In his free time, Gary enjoyed hunting, gunsmithing, playing softball with various teams, Jeep rides with the Heritage Region Jeep Alliance (HRJA)-activities that brought him peace, purpose, and fellowship.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Sherry Davidson; his devoted son, Tyler (Emma) Davidson; his cherished granddaughter, Rosie Davidson; his sister, Cindy (Scott) McCain; and numerous cousins and nephews.

Gary will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to family, service to his church, and the simple but meaningful way he made people feel welcomed and appreciated.

A memorial service honoring Gary will be held at Central Assembly of God on January 24th at 10am followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to Central Assembly of God Church, Project Linus, Project Sweet Pea or The Ronald McDonald House
