Gary Wayne Dean

Gary Wayne "Poochie" Dean, of Grottoes Virginia, left this world to be with his Lord, December 26, 2025.
He was born February 18, 1958, in Elkton, to the late Dewey N. Dean & Clara Frazier Dean. Gary worked as tradesmen all of his life, specializing in industrial insulation mechanics. He loved to fish, hunt and spending time in the mountains from where his family originates.
Gary leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Nancy Earp Dean and a son, Gary Dewey Dean, both of Grottoes. Also surviving are grandchildren, Star Gordon, Frank Gordon Jr; one great grandchild Eli Gordon; three brothers, Wayne Frazier of Shenandoah, Lawrence Frazier (Linda) of Elkton, William "Frankie" Dean (Fay) of Alexandria; sister, Barbara Harris (Roger) of Elkton; aunt, Eunice McCoy of Elkton; numerous nephews and nieces; great nephews and nieces, and great great-nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by a daughter, Emma Jo Gordon; brother, David Dean, and sister, Bonnie Dehart.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Elk Run Cemetery with Pastor Carter Dean officiating. The casket will remain closed.
