Gary Deetz, age 82, of the Town of Albion, Trempealeau County passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Gary was born in Mondovi, WI on November 12, 1942. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He married Linda Lou Carroll of Eau Claire, WI. She was the absolute love of his life. They shared almost 61 years of marriage. Gary spent his entire life on the farm. He was an expert herdsman and was always looking for ways to expand his knowledge and excel in his chosen profession. He was constantly sharing his wealth of information to us all. He was a hero to family and friends and the local farming community with his humble laugh and hardworking smile. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, playing cards, games, and traveling with family and friends creating many precious memories. He is survived by his wife Linda ; children Anne Dulas (Bill), Kristine Mann (Steven), Sarah Stephens, Lisa Stafford (Nate), and Peter Deetz (Angela). Brothers; Ronald Deetz (Patricia), Glenn Deetz, Jim Deetz (Jane), Jan Deetz (Sharon) and a sister Peggy Kolve. Brother-in-law Richard Carroll (Carmel) and sister-in-law Julie Garnett. He was preceded in death by a son Jeffery B. Deetz, son-in-law Kevin Stephens, sister-in-law Judy Deetz, brother-in-law Lynn Kolve, mother and father-in-law Richard and Ilene Carroll and his parents, Lyle and Arvilla Deetz. Gary’s family would like to thank the Mayo Hospice team for all their care, love, and support while taking excellent care of Gary. . A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 459 in Eleva, WI on June 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Talbot Family Funeral Homes-Scenic Rivers Cremation Center assisted the family.
