Gary Gene DeLamar

Gary Gene DeLamar, 77, a lifelong resident of the Waco area, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in a Waco nursing facility. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 25 at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with his good friend, Michael Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Monday before the services at the funeral home. Everyone is invited to join the family for a fish fry after the services at TP&L Lake near Hallsburg.
DeLamar was born October 27, 1947 in Waco to Raymond and Geneva (Wooten) DeLamar. He lived all of his life in the Waco area and worked as a pipefitter in the plumbing business for many years. DeLamar was a man of many interests including fishing, motorcycles, motocross, dirt track racing and deep-sea fishing just to name a few. He also was a history enthusiast who enjoyed National Geographic magazines and loved celebrating Mardi Gras parades, music and activities in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Fuqua) DeLamar of Bellmead; children, Karie Huggins and husband, Ricky of Waco, Larry "Pookey" McFarland of Bellmead and Brandi Booker of Austin; grandchildren, Taylor Daniell and Makayla Nowaski and great-grandchildren, Zander, Braxton and Maximus.
Pallbearers will be Windell Clark, Dale Burnham, Bobby Rapp, Michael Reeves, Steve Snow and Scooter Zucha.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Waco Healthcare and Rehabilitation, especially DeLamar's favorites, Jerry and Arely. The DeLamar family is also grateful for his hospice nurse, Shannon and the team at Accent Care Hospice.
