Gary C. Dolin

NEWPORT – Gary C. Dolin, 83, of Newport-Gray Road, passed away on May 11, 2024 at MVHS Wynn Hospital, Utica.
Mr. Dolin was born on March 9, 1941 in Utica, a son of the late Leo and Mary (Foy) Dolin. He grew up in Whitesboro and received his education from local schools. In 1959 he entered the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962 at the rank of SP-4. On May 20, 1967, Gary was united in marriage with the former Patsy L. Meeker at St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Utica, after 45 years of employment. Patsy preceded him in death on March 12, 2018. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and landscaping. Mr. Dolin was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Newport.
Survivors include two children, Christopher Dolin (Deborah Ellsworth) of Utica and Kimberly (Adam) Michelini of Argyle; two grandchildren, Bradley and Kasey Dolin; a great-grandson, Kayden Dolin; a special niece, Judy Jarnot of Newport; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Patsy, Gary was predeceased by three siblings, Eileen Burr, Gail Harter and Thomas Dolin.
A funeral service will take place at the Autenrith Funeral Home, 7479 Main Street, Newport, on Thursday, May 16 at 10:00 am with Deacon Jim Bower officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery where Military Honors will be conferred by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
