Mr. Gary Tod Dominy

Gary Tod Dominy, 51, of the Lake Rd., Chateaugay Lake died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family and Hospice of the North Country. Born in Ogdensburgh, NY on June 11, 1962, he was the son of Henry and Carole (Aldous) Dominy. He was married to Sarahlyn McElwain on May 1, 1999 in Moira, NY. Gary graduated from Colton High School and SUNY Canton ATC. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk, General Motors and most recently was the maintenance supervisor for Agrimark, Chateaugay. He was a former member of Gulf Brook Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and loved playing hockey. Gary is survived by his wife of 14 years; his parents of Colton; two sons, Gavin Dominy of Colton, Gyle Dominy of Colton; two step-children and their spouses, Tai and Eric Bannon of Malone, Nicholas and Chelsea Martin of Johnson City, TN; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, David Dominy of Canton, Jeffrey and Cheryl Dominy of Madrid, Doug Dominy and his companion, Fiona of Canton, Robert and Noelle Dominy of Potsdam. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert & Dorice Aldous, and his paternal grandparents, Henry B. and Ester Dominy. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, July 19 from 4 to 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, July 20 in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain with Rev. Ted Crosby officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
