Gary Eiden was born on May 15, 1943, in Alexandria, Minnesota the son of Floyd and Marie (Lanners) Eiden. He grew up in Alexandria and at the age of 16 started working for the Park Department mowing grass at the different baseball fields. During his high school years Gary also enjoyed playing baseball and continued playing as an adult in baseball leagues in the summertime.
Gary was united in marriage to Bonnie Lindemyer on July 7, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. To this union four children were born.
He started working for ALP in 1962 and retired in 2017 as Water Superintendent. He enjoyed working in his yard – whether it was splitting wood or mowing the yard. The biggest thing was there was a certain way to do it and it had to be perfect. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
Gary died on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children Tammy Eiden, Randy Eiden, Kelly Eiden, Sherry (Ethan) Henneman; seven grandchildren: Shawna, Mike, Diana, Ryan, Jenna, Ashley, Holly, twelve great grandchildren and sister, Judy Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 2:00 PM.
