Robert Eiden Obituary
Originally from Lorain, Ohio, he was a proud member of the Class of '67 from St. Mary's High School. After graduating from Marquette University, he came back home and started a long and rewarding 37-year career at BFGoodrich. There he met Ann Joyce in 1980 and they have been together ever since.
At Goodrich, he held a variety of jobs but was most at home in his sales and sales management roles. He has traveled all over the world and would keep us entertained for hours with stories of his adventures from Ireland to South Africa, Nigeria to Kenya to China to Germany, with a story to tell from each and every stop. He was loved by his customers and co-workers and made many life-long friends from his work associates and was awarded several recognitions for outstanding performances in sales.
While he tinkered with sports endeavors, including golf, he most enjoyed spending time with family and 'nips' with his friends, and most particularly encouraging and guiding Elise in becoming the amazing young woman she is today.
Bob truly was a friend to everyone he met. He had a smile and a story for everyone.
We know he would want special thanks to his best friends Mike and Bob, and Peggy and Gary who stayed with him every step of the way in his recent medical journey, as well as Pat Grant and her amazing team who never left his side these past six months.
Friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2-6 pm. Prayers will be at the funeral home on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 9:30 am followed by Bob's Mass of Christian of Burial at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd. Brecksville, OH at 10 am.

Interment will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City, IN on December 1, 2025.

Bob and I attended many conferences where we had a booth to present the capabilities of our PolyOne consulting subsidiary, Polymer Disgnostics Inc. We traveled, ate meals, manned the booth and after dinner planned the next day. I learned about sales and he about analytical chemistry. For me these few years were the best of the 42 I worked there in Avon Lake. He was a tremendous individual the we will all miss dearly.

Bob was such a great person! He was an integral part of PDI and helped lead us to a successful and thriving business unit within PolyOne. Bob's time in PDI was the most successful and thriving in PDI's history. I always think of this picture when I think of Bob. We wanted two of the most professional and good looking guys on the brochure. Bob was one. But, he wanted an actual scientist to be the face in this image. Behind the scenes when this picture was taken, Bob wanted to have his finger by (or up?) his nose. We would always laugh about this photo session. He made it fun. Bob made everything fun. And he was so good at his job. He showed us scientists just how hard sales work really is. Rest in peace. 141 Bob!
