Marilyn Beaver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Messinger Mortuaries- Indian School Mortuary on Mar. 4, 2026.
Marilyn Ann Beaver, aged 82, passed away on February 25, 2026. She was an incredibly kind and loving soul - a devoted grandmother, mother, sister, aunt and friend who was truly loved by all who knew her.

Marilyn was born to Harold and Loretta Grimm on October 20, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. There was no place on earth that Marilyn held more dear than Geneva, the place of her childhood. There the family grew with the birth of her brother Edward (Ed) Grimm and her sister Patricia (Patti) Grimm (Flemate). After completing her high school studies at an all girls Catholic college prepatory school in Geneva, Marilyn left for Wisconsin to attend Marquette University. There she met Thomas (Tom) Beaver, an aspiring Engineering student with a larger-than-life personality. He swept her off her feet and they went on to marry, bearing two children Stephen (Steve) and Daniel (Danny). Although Tom and Marilyn raised their children in Scottsdale, Arizona, Marilyn never lost her love and fondness of Geneva and the Midwest.

Tom and Marilyn looked with pride on the rearing of their children and the relationship they shared with their grandchildren, and the two of them held a special bond until Tom's passing in February 2024.

Marilyn was passionate about art and was an active member of her community, volunteering for various causes and organizations. She generously donated a variety of paintings to the Honor Health hospital network and the very halls of the hospital in which she passed are adorned with the pieces she contributed. Her kindness and compassion was contagious and her family and friends will forever miss her soothing voice and her gentle heart.

Marilyn is survived by her siblings Ed and Patti, her children Steve and Danny (along with their spouses Margy and Jenn), and her grandchildren Tommy, Charlie, Lily, Bryce and Blake Beaver.

A funeral service will be held for Marilyn at the ASU Catholic Newman Center at 230 East University Drive, Tempe, Arizona 85281 on Sunday March 22nd, at 2 p.m.
