Gary Engel Obituary
He was born June 24, 1956, in Florence, Alabama, grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Gary graduated from Tupelo High School in 1974 and was a first-generation college student, graduating from the University of North Alabama in Florence in 1979 with a degree in biology. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Engel of Tupelo, Mississippi, and by his grandson Bo Lawson Baker.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Diane Holcombe Engel; daughters, Dana [Kevin] Baker, Laura [Kyle] Fleck; son, Trey [Molly] Engel; his mother, Peggy Engel of Tupelo, Mississippi; 7 grandchildren; brother, Terry Engel.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 12noon until 2 p.m. A service celebrating the life of Gary will follow the visitation at 2 pm in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home.
