Gary Wayne Everhart passed away on March 12, 2025 at the age of 79.
Gary was born to Krisley Neil and Betty Everhart in El Paso Texas on February 22, 1946. After graduating from Austin High School in 1964, he studied Psychology & Sociology at Austin College, receiving his degree in 1968, after which he received his M.Ed in Rehabilitation Counseling at The University of Texas.
In 1969 he married Juanita Grady, and they had two sons Brian and Christopher while living in Austin, Texas. He was a wonderful father and loved by many. He and his family enjoyed family bowling leagues where many lifelong friends were made. He also active in the YMCA Indian Guides with both his boys.
He worked at Cris Cole Rehabilitation Center and Commission for the Blind from 1971-1998 and had a wonderful career there supporting individuals with visual impairment to have the skills needed to live their lives to the fullest. After retirement, he also worked with Hadley, in service of those with visual impairment.
In 1990, Gary married Jacque Jordan in Austin where they lived for several years, before settling in Canon City CO and most recently in Tucson AZ. Gary and Jacque spent many years camping, rock hounding, visiting with family and enjoying life. He was known for his photography, his creation of art from found objects in nature and his positivity. All of these will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Juanita, his brother William Everhart and his son Christopher. He is survived by his wife Jacque and their dog Boo, his son Brian (Candace) two grandchildren Anthony, Mariana, Gary's sister Sharon Riley and nieces and nephews.
