Gary Michael Fox, 62, of Olean, formerly of Randolph and Salamanca, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Intandem IRA on North 6th Street in Olean, NY, surrounded by care and compassion under the support of Hospice.
He was born on December 10, 1962 in Buffalo the son of the late, John Fox and Diane Donaldson Fox.
Gary attended Randolph Central School where he was a student of Mr. Larry Bourne. Following High School, he went on to work for Subcon Industries in Salamanca for 20 years from 1984 to 2004. In 1998 he received the Directors Award and in 2004 the Employee of the Year Award. In 2017, Gary became part of Intandem's Family Care program, where he found a loving home with the Suzanne Pettie family for seven years before transferring into the Intandem IRA – Big 6. From 2021 to 2023, Gary took part in Intandem's Site-Based PreVoc program. He also loved spending time at the Day Habilitation program, where he enjoyed making friends, joining in activities, and proudly sharing his passion for the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills with anyone who would listen. One of Gary's greatest joys was attending St. Bonaventure basketball games with his dearest friends, a pastime that brought him endless excitement and cherished memories.
He was a member and former Deacon of the Randolph United Presbyterian Church and had also served on mission trips to Mexico and with young youth group trips. He was also a member of the Randolph Historical Society. Gary was an avid New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills Fan.
Surviving are his brother; Paul Fox and Partner, Cheryl Forino Wahl of Mentor, Ohio, a sister; Linda Fox of Charlotte, NC, two nieces; Kendal Fox and Jeanne Krantz, two nephews; Nick and Lucas Sagaert, his foster mother; Connie Mae Minnick Lockwood of Randolph, four foster brothers; John, James and Jeffrey Lockwood all of Randolph and Jack Lockwood of Silver Creek, Intandem Care Givers; Suzanne and Bob Pettie and Intandem brothers; Jonathan Biscup and Jasper Overmyer.
He was preceded in death by his father; John Fox in 2003, his mother Diane in 2015 and foster father Gary Lockwood. Gary's signature smile and thumbs up approval will be cherished with his memory forever.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, (September 12, 2025) at the Believers Chapel, 2252 West five mile road, Allegany, New York 14706. Care Pastor Albert Batt will officiate. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Columbia, Tennessee. The family and friends will be received One our prior at the church. Family, friends, and caregivers will be received at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
