Gary Frederick Obituary

Gary Wayne Frederick, 86, of Longview, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2025. Born on January 15, 1939, Gary was preceded in death by his parents Proctor Bernard and Roselyn Frederick, sister Linda Frederick, and beloved wife Judy McGuffin Frederick.
He is survived by his sons Michael Frederick and Robert Frederick (wife Jamie Hooten Frederick), and his cherished grandchildren: Benjamin, Haddon, Mikaela, Jack, Caleb, Genevieve, and Sarah.
Gary was ordained as a Methodist Minister in 1964 after graduating from SMU, where he met Judy. He served congregations in Garland and Austin, Texas before beginning a 35-year career with the Texas Department of Human Services and Texas Workforce Commission. A proud Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow member, Gary loved camping, backpacking, and coaching his sons' basketball and baseball teams.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Longview, Texas.
Gary will be remembered for his faith, kindness, and dedication to family and community.
