Gary Roy Gilbert, 78, of Center Valley, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center, with his wife at his side. He was the devoted husband of Mary Louise "Mimi" (Beall) Gilbert, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Allentown on June 25, 1947, Gary was the son of the late Roy B. and Verna M. (Prechtel) Gilbert. He graduated from Emmaus High School and Susquehanna University. At Susquehanna, he was a member of the varsity baseball team and earned the Blair M. Heaton award in 1969 for his devotion to scholarship and athletics. Gary faithfully and honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He spent 35 years of his career as a computer analyst with PP&L, before retiring after a 10-year term with the Lehigh County Courthouse. He was a member of the Barn Church as well as a former treasurer of St. John's United Church of Christ, Emmaus.

Gary was a dedicated fan of baseball, especially the Phillies, a passion he shared with his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and could often be found on the sidelines at his grandchildren's many sporting events. He was known for his warm and outgoing personality, always enjoying conversations with both old friends and new acquaintances.

Gary's family wishes to express their gratitude to the Coatesville Veterans Medical Center for the wonderful care that Gary received over the last six months.

I met Gary & Mimi at the VA Medical center in Coatesville. Gary was such a nice person. Always had a smile on his face when he greeted me. When I was visiting my husband Danny there. Gary & Danny brought me & Mimi together to be friends & we were a support team for each other. God Bless you, Gary.
