Gary Gonterman

Gary Lee Gonterman, 69, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 12:52 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his home. He was born on August 1, 1948 in Ottumwa, IA to Earl G. & Lorena E. Davis Gonterman. He married Sharon Launer Henshaw on July 3, 1986 in Fort Madison, IA. He retired from the J.I. Case Company in Burlington, IA in 2004. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, his family & his cocker spaniel, Lacey. He like to cook over an open fire, making homemade pizza for his family, camping, (drinking a little beer), and rebuilding old cars. Gary is survived by: his wife: Sharon Gonterman of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Brian Joel Gonterman of Fort Madison, IA; 2-granddaughters: Heather & Kala; 1-great grandson: Maverick; 1-brother: Larry (DeMaris) Burch of Burlington, IA; 2-sisters in law: Sheila Hawk of Warsaw, IL & Cindy (Joe Wayne) Heathcott of Newbern, TN; 1-brother in law: Russell (Hilda) Launer of Warsaw, IL; his father in law: Leo Launer of Warsaw, IL and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, 1-brother: Earl Gonterman Jr., his mother in law: Norma Jean Launer & 1-brother in law: Andy Launer. Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory and no services are planned.
