Gary Wayne Grove, of Oklahoma City, passed from this life on January 16, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born May 16, 1949, in Watonga, Oklahoma. Gary graduated from US Grant High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, joining in 1969. Gary received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, as well as Sharpshooter M-H. He owned his own meat business for several years, and in his later years, he installed fireplaces.
Gary enjoyed playing golf in his younger years. He enjoyed cooking and barbequing with his family. Gary was a sports fan and enjoyed watching sports, especially golf, baseball, and football. He loved watching his daughter play softball, and he enjoyed coaching his sons, Ryan and Kelin in Little League baseball and football. Gary was an avid New York Yankees baseball, Oklahoma Sooners football, and Panhandle State Softball fan. He enjoyed the holidays and loved softball season with his daughter and meeting her for dinner while she attended college. He enjoyed watching movies and taking Tanner and Kayli to Warren Theatre. Gary enjoyed music and always had many genres of CD's. His favorite restaurants were Texas Roadhouse, he loved the fried mushrooms there and he also loved Chelinos', and Louie's. Gary was sarcastic and was always making jokes, including "Dad Jokes." He was a very kind and respectful man.
Gary is survived by his children, Ryan Grove & wife, Nicole, of Ohio, Kelin Grove, of Norman, Tanner Grove, of Norman, Kayli Grove, of Weatherford, and Justin Tee, of Norman; brother, Dennis Grove and wife Carol; 3 sisters, Jan Cook, Karen Fryar, and Beverly Ramos; ex-wife, Rosemary Grove. He is preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Williams Grove; and his mother, Gwen Dean Wooldridge.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
