Gary Thomas Hadrich

1953 - 2026

A private family memorial will be held for Gary, age 73 of Holdingford, who passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on January 17, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was born on January 2, 1953 to George and Christine (Buettner) Hadrich in St. Cloud. He grew up on his family farm near Holdingford and graduated from Holdingford High School.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy (Schlangen) on October 23, 1974. They created a home in the Holdingford area where Gary lived the rest of his years.

Gary's career centered around carpentry, construction, and farming. He enjoyed the outdoors and in the last 30+ years, he helped farm on the family farm he was raised on, first with his brother, and most recently with his son.

He was an avid hunter enjoying the wilderness and wildlife. He looked forward to his annual elk hunt to Colorado that he enjoyed for over 30 years. Last fall, Gary enjoyed getting into his deer stand and was able to get a doe and buck. He also liked to play cribbage and poker, joining others in the area at weekly gatherings to play a few hands.

Gary is survived by his wife Dorothy of 51 years; his children Connie (Chad) Winker, Terri (Chad) Panek, Luanne (Dylan) Risberg, and Anthony (Ashley) Hadrich; nine grandchildren, Logan (Jasmine), Olivia, Abigail (Tristen), Blake, Isabelle (Josh), Emma, Riley, Evelyn, and Adeline; brother George (Sharon) Hadrich and sisters Sharlene (David) Walberg, Lois (Ron) Schroden, Linda (Ed) Merkling; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Christine, brothers Dale and Harvey, sister Carol Reber, nephew Steven Reber, mother and father-in-law Marcus and Florina Schlangen, and brother-in-law Mike Schlangen.

The family would like to thank the many kind staff that worked with Gary at the Coborn's Cancer Center and St. Cloud Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Nate Brever and staff at CentraCare Albany, and Siri Konz, CNP, DNP for their care.

A celebration of life for Gary will be held at a later date when the weather is nice and family and friends can join to raise a glass to celebrate Gary.
