Gary Lynn Hawk

Gary Lynn Hawk, 68, of Waretown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on September 13, 2025. Born on January 4, 1957, in Elderton, Pennsylvania, Gary lived a life defined by devotion to his family, his friends, and the things he loved most.

Gary was the beloved husband of 27 years to Lori Hawk, a proud father to his sons, Hunter Hawk and Michael Hawk. He is also remembered with love by his sister, Jan Hawk Zittel, and brothers, Jerry, John, and Jim Hawk, as well as his grandchildren, cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois Hawk.

Gary had a special way of lighting up every room that he walked into. His positive attitude, gratitude, and friendliness were always notable aspects that his family appreciated about him. Gary found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and shared that passion with those closest to him. His love for animals was especially evident in the bond he shared with his dogs-most notably Diego, who held a special place in his heart.

Gary took pride in his work as a truck driver. It was something he truly loved doing. The road suited him well, reflecting both his independence and strong work ethic. Dad loved his work family and talked about them every day. The loss of Gary leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew him. His warmth, generosity, and steadfast support will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know Gary.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Waretown Fire House located at 117 Wells Mills Road, Waretown, NJ 08758.
