Gary Hazelhurst Obituary

Gary Charles Hazelhurst Gary Hazelhurst was born in Denver, Colorado to Robert and Evelyn Hazelhurst. He passed away at the age of 69 following a lengthy illness. Gary spent his childhood in Denver, graduating from Cherry Creek High School in 1972. He then attended Mesa College (now CMU), earning a BS in Geology. While he periodically worked in that profession, his interests were broader leading him to ski instruction for kids in Aspen, CO; restoring a homestead cabin in Telluride, CO; developing a bottled water business in Glenwood Springs, CO; and developing and managing Spruce Point Tree Farm in Hotchkiss, CO. Just as his professional pursuits were varied, so were his interests in travel. His later years found him in Thailand, Belize, Hawaii, Alaska and Florida. Gary's faith was strong and sustained him throughout his life. Gary was predeceased by his parents. Surviving family include his brother Greg (Claudia and family), his sister Kim Moore (Chris Moore deceased and family), his sister Jan Barrett (Phil Barrett deceased and family), and his brother Glen (Margaret and family). A family memorial gathering will be held in South Park, CO in September 2023.
