Gary Duane Henke

Gary Duane Henke, 78, resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away at his residence on November 16, 2024. Gary was born in Gaylord, MN on June 11, 1946, to Wilard Arthur Otto and Gwendolyn Lorraine Spiers Henke. Gary served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy, retiring in Pearl Harbor, HI as the Chief Petty Officer (IT) of Pac Fleet Command. He and his wife, Pamela, returned home to Bogalusa, and he later retired as the IT supervisor from LSU Bogalusa Medical Center, to enjoy being Papa to his only granddaughter, Lilly. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bogalusa, as well as serving as a church Elder and Deacon.
Gary is survived by his daughter Shauna Henke; granddaughter Lilly Belle Ingle; brother Otto Henke; three sisters Cheryl Ballenger, Susie Leach, and Allison Henke; and numerous other family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife Pamela D. Henke; and his parents Wilard Arthur Otto Henke and Gwendolyn Lorraine Spiers Henke.
A service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Zion Church in Bogalusa, with a gathering for coffee from 10:00 am until the memorial service at 11:00 am. After the memorial there will be a potluck in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to Make a Wish Foundation earmarked for a Military Child, in Gary's name.
