Gary Wayne Hilbert, born on August 15, 1970, in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky, passed away on November 30, 2025, in Sanders, Carroll County, Kentucky. He was cherished by many and is remembered for his observant nature and a deep appreciation for the simple beauties of life.

Gary thrived in moments of quiet reflection, often finding joy in the intricate details of the world around him. He was an individual who found pleasure in life's modest offerings, relishing in peaceful walks through the woods and the thrill of hiking. His enthusiasm for nature was particularly evident in his passion for foraging morel mushrooms, a pursuit that brought him joy and connection to the earth.

Gary possessed a natural inclination toward tinkering and fixing things, demonstrating both skill and creativity in his projects. His hands were often busy, whether he was mending something broken or exploring new challenges. This gentle spirit and his methodical approach to life left a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to share time with him.

Gary is survived by his loving sisters, Donna Marie Bonam of Shepherdsville, KY, Judith Ann Teske of Genesee Depot, WI, Marilyn Sue Jackson of Bardstown, KY, Rita Kay Shain of Bardstown, KY, and Carol Jean Teske of Coxs Creek, KY, as well as his brother, Joseph Allen Hilbert of Jeffersonville, IN. He is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ray Hilbert and Mary Evelyn Lawrence Hilbert, as well as his sister, Janet Louise Hilbert, and his brother, James Ray Hilbert. The legacy of Gary Wayne Hilbert lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and gentle demeanor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A remembrance of his life is planned at a later date where he can be returned to the family farm that he enjoyed spending time at.
