Gary Lee Houser, 78, of Camp Hill, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, surrounded by his family at UPMC Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. Born in
Lebanon, PA, on August 17, 1947, he was a son of the late Raymond and Verna (Hostetter) Houser. Gary was the loving husband of Sandra L. (Neagle) Houser, with whom he shared 26 years together.
A high school graduate, Gary went on to own and operate his own textile factory. After retiring from that venture, he worked in several roles, eventually becoming the Seafood Manager at a Giant Foods store. His greatest joy came from cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events-he was their biggest supporter and proudest fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he remained a devoted follower of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the UNC Tar Heels throughout his life.
Gary will be remembered for his steady presence, his work ethic, and the deep love he held for his family. His kindness, enthusiasm, and gentle encouragement touched everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his 2 daughters, Denise Gamber and husband Matthew, and Judie Ballard and husband Shawn; his 3 grandchildren, Marleigh Ballard, Ian Gamber, and Abigail Ballard; his 3 brothers, Leon, Glenn, and Dennis Houser; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Bruce, Claude, and Ronald Houser; and 1 sister, Joyce Geib.
