Gary L. (Butch) Jester, 81, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Born February 1, 1943, in Glenwood, Arkansas to Rubin Earl and Irene Elizabeth Currie, he was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers Ellis and Jimmy, his daughter Stacy Daniels, an infant grandson Connor Daniels and his wife of 42 years, Lynda McCone. He was raised in Glenwood and Arkadelphia and graduated from Henderson State College with a degree in Business Administration. He also served in the Army Reserves for four years.
He retired from Farm Bureau as an accounting manager after 36 years of service. Gary was a member of Fellowship Bible Church where he found love again when he met Karen Annette Hale Bolin. They were married in 2017. He served in various ministries at the church and was part of a long-time, men’s bible study group who called themselves the “yokefellows.” He also attended Bible Study Fellowship for over 12 years. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandkids.
Gary is survived by his wife of seven years, Karen Annette Hale Bolin; daughter Kim Jester Berrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son-in-law Kenny Daniels of Joplin, Missouri; grandchildren Lane Berrey of Rogers, Arkansas, Jack Berrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sicily Daniels of Joplin, Missouri; sister Joyce Berryman of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kay Brooks and husband Pat of Irving, Texas.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church, 1401 Kirk Road, Little Rock, AR. 72223
