Gary Kirkbride Sr.

Gary F. Kirkbride Sr., 78, of Chester, passed away at his home, Thursday, February 23, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born, June 16, 1944, in Steubenville, OH., he was the son of the late Calvin N. and Dorothy M. (Crouch) Kirkbride.
Gary was also preceded in death by both of his brothers, Calvin and William Kirkbride.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and Army. Gary retired from Homer Laughlin China Company after 32 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester. Gary was also a member of the American Legion Post #376 in Chester.
Gary enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Shelba Jean (Gregory) Kirkbride, whom he married on July 24, 1976. Gary will also be missed by his children, Marlanea Taylor and her husband, Rodney of Temecula, CA., Gary Kirkbride Jr. and his companion, Tracy Kraft of East Liverpool and Dodie Kirkbride and her husband, John Myers of Chester; grandchildren, Mark Kirkbride (Eileen) of El Paso, TX., Brody Kirkbride (Rosie) of Chester, Khala Taylor of Oakland, CA., and Makyia Taylor of Temecula, CA.; great-grandchildren, Emily, Dylan and Myles; sisters, Betty Champ of New Cumberland and Dorothea Long and her husband, Pat of High Springs, FL.; sister-in-law, Etta Kirkbride, and fur baby, Rex.
Pastor Kara Rowe and Mark Kirkbride will officiate Gary's service, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Arner Funeral Chapel, at 2:00 PM.
