Brenda Sue (Grindstaff) Kirkbride, 73, of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday (September 9, 2025) at her home.
She was born March 2, 1952 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Charles W. Grindstaff and Thelma "June" (Marlatt) Grindstaff.
Brenda graduated from Cambridge High School in 1971. She worked in the housekeeping department at Cambridge Health Care for twenty-four years and also had worked at the Sleep Inn Hotel for three years.
Her favorite pastimes included socializing, watching The Young and the Restless, and photography. She loved baking cakes and cookies, and often gave cookies away during the holiday season. She enjoyed music and was an avid fan of Ronnie McDowell. She dearly loved her and her husbands Yorkie, Mercedes.
Brenda attended House of Prayer Church. She loved her church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Jewell; and her stepdaughter, Stacy Kirkbride.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Alvin L. Kirkbride, whom she married March 14, 2003; three sons, James Davis of Buffalo, Richard (Shannon) Everly of Byesville, and Scott (Angie) Everly of Byesville; a stepson, Cody (Tami) Kirkbride of Byesville; a stepdaughter, Kim (Will) Hammonds of Columbus; her brother, Chuck Grindstaff of Millersburg; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday (September 15, 2025) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Wylie officiating.
Burial will be at Center Baptist Cemetery.
