Gary Dwaine Lisenby was born November 6, 1961, in Urania, LA to the union of his parents, Elmer and Ollie Lisenby, and he passed from this life March 1, 2023, at Citizen's Medical Center in Columbia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Rose Brown Lisenby, his father, Bubba Lisenby, and his brother, Wesley Lisenby. Gary was a heavy equipment operator and worked most his life on the pipeline. He was a man of many interests. He enjoyed watching westerns, riding his Harley, and canning, especially making mayhaw jelly. He loved to hunt and be outdoors, but he was also a shopping addict when it came to going to the grocery store. His love for all these things combined did not come close to his love for his boys. He loved checking on them daily and hearing about everything they were doing. He was a devoted Papa to his grandchildren and loved them so much. He was also devoted to his "Miss Marilyn" and loved her children like they were his own.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ollie Lisenby; his sons: Brandon Sanders (Jessica), Michael Lisenby, and Cory Lisenby; his life partner, Marilyn Warren, her children: Debbie Gonzales (Mark), Melissa Gobert (Jeramie), Sara Warren (David), and Tyler Warren (Sevanna); his brother, Kenny Ray Lisenby (Brenda); sister, Jennifer Higginbotham (Johnny); grandchildren: Wyatt, Anna Rose, Shelbi, Aislinn, Allison, Kade, X.J., and Will; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Louis Andrews, Joe Fogleman, Cliff Paul, Steven Tingle, Bryce Stott, and Jeff Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Westbrooks, John Honeycutt, Andy Honeycutt, and Scotty Ashley.
