Gary A. MacPherson

NORFOLK – Gary A. MacPherson, 67, passed away Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Gary was born March 11, 1958 in Massena, the son of the late Hugh A. and Armilde R. (Sarr) MacPherson. He attended school at St. Lawrence Central School, graduating in 1976. Following his graduation, he entered the US Army, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1979. He continued serving in the Army Reserves until 1993. On September 9, 1978, he married Angelia Boice at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brasher.
Gary was a self-employed contractor for many years and a proud member of the Andrew W. Cook American Legion Post 1479 in Hogansburg. He was an avid Boston Bruins Hockey fan and enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. Gary cherished the time he was able to spend with his family especially his grandchildren and their sporting events.
Gary is survived by his wife, Angelia; his daughters, Nicole (Shawn) Baldwin of North Carolina and Tanya Sochia (John Barto) of Massena; his beloved grandchildren, Kyle, Jaxson, and Grayson Merritt; Hunter, Sierra, and Owen Baldwin; and Abigail Sochia; and his nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Amanda Merritt; a granddaughter, Angel Sochia; and his siblings, Jacqueline Holmes and James MacPherson.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, however at his request there are no services.
