Gary Don Maples, 80, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Haven Drive.
Gary was born on January 12, 1945, in Manitowoc, to Stanley and Evelyn (Aherns) Maples. He attended and graduated from Manitowoc schools and went on to obtain his master’s degree in business finance from UW-Madison.
On June 13, 1980, he was united in marriage to Constance.
Gary was a banker for over 50 years, working in Wausau at First American Bank, Superior at M&I Bank, and in Sheboygan at BMO Bank. He served as president at M&I and BMO Banks. Gary taught Banking at UW-Madison and Western Banking over in Prague.
Gary served on the board for the Sheboygan Falls YMCA, Police and Fire Commission, Rotary Club in Sheboygan, and on the Board of Directors at Port Washington State Bank. Gary collected ham radios and enjoyed reading history books, tinkering, and figuring out DIY projects. He was known for his dry sense of humor and enjoyed spoofing his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife, Constance; children, Toni Heine, Jennifer Dobratz, and Jodi Heine; grandchildren, Sydney, Bailey, and Zachary Dobratz; 8 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roger and James (Marilyn), and sister Judith Mason.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
