Carl Fred Maeuser, age 86, of rural Elkhart Lake WI, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born April 5,1939 in the town of Herman, son of the late of Ewald and Roma (Conrad) Maeuser. He was a 1957 graduate of Kiel High School. On May 2, 1959, Carl was united in marriage with Judith Lutze at St. John – St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Together they raised three children: Barbara, Scott and Karri.
Carl was a hard worker all of his life. He grew up on his family farm, driving a milk truck for Charles Schmal, Athorp, and Stanege Cheese. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He purchased his family’s farm in 1966. He was a dedicated volunteer for the Ada Fire Department for 50 years, retiring in 2019. Carl was very involved in his community as well. He was an avid fan of Schueffner racing #70, and attended many Plymouth dirt track, late model races. He served faithfully on the Town of Herman Board for over 40 years. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Plymouth, serving as a choir member, as the deacon and on the cemetery board of Immanuel UCC for many decades. Above all, he loved his family. He and Judy worked side by side on the farm for many years, and even traveling to Germany twice with the Immanuel UCC group. Carl and Judy enjoyed playing cards with their high school friends and have many, many great memories of those games. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and treasured spending time with his family. Carl will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Carl is survived by three children; Barbara (Allen) Perronne of Elkhart Lake, Scott Maeuser of New Berlin, and Karri (Darwin) Jaeger of Cleveland, four grandchildren: Taylor (Nathan)Fritz, Gwen, Ryan (Molly) and Erin Jaeger, and sister Jeanette Meinnert of Sheboygan Falls; great-grandchildren Colton and Bristol Fritz, and new baby boy. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Larry Lutze of Manitowoc.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife Judy, his grandson Tony Jaeger, his brother Eugene Maeuser, three brothers-in-law: Ben Munday, Gerald Lutze, and Norbert Meinnert, and sisters-in-law LaVerne Maeuser and Donna Monday.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Terri, Mary, Jeff, Chris and Tracy for the wonderful care they provided to Carl over the years. Their warmth and compassion will not be forgotten.
